There are eleven yarn shops in the state of Kentucky! Louisville has two, one being A Yarn Crossing. This new store has only been open since December.
Partners, Tina, Brick and Lindsey, opened December 12 and are very excited about this new adventure. The shop can be found on Frankfort Avenue, known for the artists, small boutiques, and fabulous restaurants. A Yarn Crossing sits next to the railroad tracks, thus the name A Yarn Crossing.
The store is in the process of organizing their first yarn tasting event that will be July 25. They also have their local knitting meet up group at the store every week for Wild Wednesday’s. They participate in knit-alongs, and the store also has a Ravelry group and a facebook page. A Yarn Crossing also hosts the Louisville Knitting Guild meetings on the second Thursday of every month to promote a greater knitting community.All of the owners knit, crochet, and spin. So you will see a wide assortment of spinning materials also. We feature local farms and artists who would like to see their yarn in our shop, which include hand spun yarns and fibers.
