In January, Carmel announced that she was going to knit a different fair isle hat every month for the whole year. This was her first hat. She chose the Basic Norwegian Star Hat by Cara Jo Miller. Carmel named her hat the Hawaii Star because she was on vacation in Hawaii during January. Honestly, I was impressed that she was knitting the whole time she was there. Carmel used Cascade Yarns 220 Worsted for the gray section and then used Knit Picks Chroma for the star part. I thought the pattern part transitioned beautifully.
