I always say “you can never have too many yarn shops”! They are all as different and unique as their owners. They are all in different locales, they carry different brands, they offer different things, and have different personalities!
The Artful Ewe is owned and operated by Heidi Dascher, and the store is in historic Port Gamble, Washington! This quaint town has a sawmill history, and is now operating on historic tourism. They focus on celebrations and weddings, with shops, restaurants, and activities.
Heidi is busy all week long ordering supplies and dying yarn, and the store is open for your shopping pleasure on the weekends. Her store is cozy, warm, and inviting. You would think all the custom dyed yarn would be enough, but the charm of the old building, her always fresh flowers, the fire and her adorable dogs, just put it over the top memorable.
The Artful Ewe has every weight of yarn you need, and is now offering yarns by Habu Textiles; which is new for the store. I did purchase some superwash worsted wool, but what drew me to the store this visit was it’s newest member Semillon her Whippet puppy. Now you can visit Grace and Semillon.
The town had that fall feeling with it’s overcast skies, bustling leaves on the ground, and a chill in the air. They are gearing up for their Christmas in the Country celebration, so check out the town website here. Visit Heidi, Grace & Semillon at The Artful Ewe in Port Gamble, Washington Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10am-5pm!
