A new shop joined our local yarn crawl in my area.  We actually have two crawls, but the PNW Yarn Crawl was lucky enough to have a newcomer in A Little Knitty in Auburn, Washington!  My friends and I usually run like crazy people, from shop to shop to get our passports stamped, so we can complete the crawl in one day, as that’s all the time we have to devote to it.  This year, we decided to take it easy, and pick 2 shops to go to.  We stopped for coffee, we took a break for some lunch, we squeezed in a little knitting, it was really fun with no pressure.  The two shops we went to were both busy.  No surprise, it was a perfectly gorgeous day outside.

A Little Knitty was new to all of us, and it did not disappoint.  The store was busy with crawlers, and the store had two free patterns; one for knitters and one for crochet…it was a shawl.  They also had an in-house line of yarn (private label) called Diamond.  It is fingering weight yarn, and all the colors have Gilmore Girl names — SO FUN!!!  Of course I had to buy one, I chose “Friday Night Dinners”.   I’m obsessed with the show that is now in syndication.  I’ve watched it countless times.  They also had diamond stitch markers.  I also got a very unique leather shawl closure thing that doubles as a bracelet.  I’m officially cool now!

The store is open, light, and full of color.  I loved A Little Knitty; warm and inviting with cutting edge products.  There are plenty of places to sit and knit, and Jen, the owner is so fun, and lively and upbeat.  The store is located downtown on Main Street.  We found free parking right on the street.  There were a number of places to eat in either direction of the store as well.

Having a girl day is so much fun, and coming home with ‘knitty’ goodies is a bonus!  Curious what’s going on at your LYS?  Find them on social media, and follow them.  A Little Knitty can be found on both Facebook and Instagram.

If you want to do a spotlight on your LYS, email me all the details and pictures, and we’ll put it up.  As always, you can click on any photo to see it’s larger form~
