School's Out For Summer

|
It's not quite summer yet, but it is June, so we'll take it back a bit, and not box ourselves into a theme this month.
Anything goes, socks, scarves, sweaters, hats, baby items, felted things, toys, afghans or whatever you're working on. We like crochet here too, so email over your entries and I'll post them for you and let you know when they are live.
I hope you enjoy all that June brings your way, whether it be a graduation, a wedding or a special Father's Day celebration. Knit through and keep in touch~

Maybe you noticed the pink baby beret down below by Pamela W. Allen, well this is Pamela W. Allens Flora Band. Pamela is from California, and she knit this project using Frog Tree Alpaca Sportweight yarn. Pamela is sharing her pattern for this baby darling on her blog. Pamela's LYS is Mendocino Yarn Shop, Mendocino, California. Thank you so much for participating Pamela.
Kathie Malcher, a regular contributor covering yarn shops and also submission of projects, knit this hat called Cable Hat for All by The Fiber Gallery in Seattle, Washington. Kathie used Malabrigo Rios for this project. I really like that hat, I may just have to call the store (206-706-4197) for the pattern! Nice work Kathie - and thanks for sharing yur work with us - me LIKEY!!

My friend Carol tried her hand at the Purlaway Hat by Bluegirl Knits. Carol got her pattern at at Chicks With Sticks in Hoodsport, Washington; but you can also acquire the pattern on-line. It's fun and interesting, maybe your LYS wants to carry these patterns.

Sherri lives in my neck of the woods here in Washington, and this is her Barb's Koigu Ruffle by Churchmouse Yarns and Teas. Sherri didn't use Koigu on her scarf - she used Holiday Yarns, Jennifer's FlockSock Sock Yarn in the colorway November. This pattern can be found in the Classics collection on the Churchmouse website. Thank you Sherri for participating and I hope you have a great summer!
Dorien in California was very creative here knitting Eunny Jang's Ivy League Vest. I LOVE IT!!! Dorien used Kauni Wool 8/2 Effektgarn in Rainbow and also the Black/Gray. You can see that the black/gray is the background and the rainbow is the fish; just two seperate skeins and colorways and you have this fun vest, and I love fish. Very good Dorien - thanks! If you'd like to keep up with Dorien, here is her blog.
Silvia comes to us from Michigan via Portugal ;-) Here is her ...a beret for baby... by Pamela W. Allen using Rowan RYC Luxury Cotton DK. Baby will be stylin this cap for quite some time, as Silvia says it's very stretchy and will fit for a while. Silvia is also a member over on our Facebook page - thank you Silvia for participating. I'm in love with this baby hat!!
Megann lives in California, she loves to knit socks and has her own blog, Crafty Pancakes! Here are her simple, yet cool, Sock Recipe: A Good, Plain Sock by Stephanie Pearl McPhee, using Hazel Knits Artisan Sock in colorway Loosey Juicy (fun name). You can find the pattern Megann used in the book Knitting Rules! by Stephanie Pearl McPhee (ask for it at your LYS). Thanks Megann for participating and I hope you have a great summer. To learn more about Megann, just read her blog.
Kathy in Florida knit this gorgeous blue Citron by Hillary Smith Callis. The yarn Kathy used is Posh Yarn Miranda 2ply in colorway Tropic of Capricorn. Thank you Kathy for partiipating, and have fun on that trip this fall!
